History

  BIOGRAPHY    born & raised in london, where she lived with her ( rather well off parents & maternal grandparents ) at what was colloquially known as the “ bayford estate ”. it was a grand, victorian - age mansion on a large plot of land ( nearly 200 acres, with lush gardens and a swimming pool that seemed to stretch for miles ). this estate was supposed to be turned over to luzinda when she got married, but after her disappearance in the year 1949, and being pronounced dead after another decade of searching, this familial manor was eventually sold to the state and used to house orphans and widows. by the twenty first century, it was made into a museum with a rather grand walking tour, made by and for tourists to get a peek into what life looked like for the exceedingly wealthy of the late 1800s and early 1900s.luzinda was born six years after the First World War had ended, where london bustled with new life and advancements in culture and tech, things seemed to be changing for the better! That is, until the economical, industrial and political shift of the late 1920s. Demand plummeted for what were once seen as dependable and “sure” investments, such as textiles, coal, shipbuilding, and steel. Both the Blake and Talbot family were hit hard by this decline, though they still faired better than the whole of Europe because of their long line of wealth & credit. When the Second World War begun, England faced the enemy (Nazi Germany), seemingly, alone as German forces invaded European country after European country. America didn’t join the war until 1941, two years after its start, following the attack on Pearl Harbor. Luzinda was only 15 when the second war began, and though she wasn’t sure what to make of it at first, by 16 she was adamant in wanting to get involved in the war effort. She had watched the church she once attended be destroyed during The Blitz, and watched as her brother, cousins, and family friends be killed and captured in battle.And so, Luzinda, under the pretense of summering in “safety”, she devoted much of her youth (from 1939-43, ages 15-19) to studying the ace pilots that were stationed in America, more specifically Lancaster, California. The pilots there weren’t particularly keen on her prying nature, but, after confirming that she wasn’t a young German spy intending to infiltrate the Air Corps from within, allowed her to tour their barracks, and even fly in one of their aircraft’s with their most patient of ace pilots — André Blanc-Dumont, a French aviator, member of the Blackhawk Squadron, and a truly kind man. His kindness encouraged Luzinda to try her hand at flying herself, which only fed this determination to become the first woman member of the Blackhawk squadron. She trained herself to pilot a wide range of modern aircrafts and even made herself an expert in various forms of combat and weaponry, her connections and wealth had her in the air and training with the best before Christmas Day of 1941.But this wasn’t enough for the Blackhawk Squadron, who didn’t have a need for a firey teenager with a desire to free European citizens from Germany’s vice - grip — they turned her away, several times in fact. Things changed, however, in June 1942, when the Blackhawks found themselves captured in Northern Africa while trying to uncover an illegal weapons trading scheme. Zinda, calling herself “Lady Blackhawk”, was able to successfully free the Blackhawk squadron and locate their then commander, Olaf Bjornson. following this escapade, the blackhawks were forced to admit her talent for flying and her fieldwork. from then on, the name zinda blake became synonymous with the skies, and while her family ( paternal & maternal ) boarded up their riches and waited out the war in furs and expensive colognes, she fought, tooth and nail, until the war was over. Zinda flew all over the americas and europe, across the pacific and Atlantic, around the world eight times over, doing search&rescue missions for captured troops, and filling in the gaps of squadrons who needed a woman in the skies. by the year 1949, the war was over. Zinda Blake was a few years shy of her thirtieth birthday, and though she still flew with the remaining members of the Blackhawk squadron, her life took a quieter pace in New York. She stayed only a few blocks away from figures like Howard Stark and Wesley Dodds, friends whom she had gotten to know shortly after being enlisted in the Air Corps.New Years Eve, 1949, Zinda Blake returns to London to see her parents and surviving family for the first time in nearly a decade. They party nearly all night and so, by midnight, she’s exhausted. 11:59, and Zinda is sound asleep in her childhood home. And when the clock strikes 12, Zinda has not been welcome into a new era, not into the 1950s but, through a complicated series of time and space rules that she wouldn’t come to know until a century later, back to the year 1940; in a timeline nearly identical to the one she had occupied. This cycle would repeat, the years 1940-1949 several times over, each decade being lived through a different timeline, a different universe. how the loop ended

the pair were married within two years of their initial meeting and while there were no sparks between them at first, a friendship did eventually form, and love followed -- a blossom that prompted zinda’s birth.
